We ended up with the 0xc000007b problem because we manually downloaded the msvcp140.dll file (and the vcruntime140.dll) files and saved them into syswow64 which was recommended on another thread. My daughter and I salute you as we have been on the same journey and have finally reached the promised land thanks to you and the responses on this thread - big thanks to Malou, Fikyyyy & well, of course.

for reference I'm running windows 10 home on an MSI 970 Gaming w/ an AMD FX8350, 16GB ram, and 2 GTX HUGE thanks for starting this thread and respect to you for such persistence! I'm at a complete loss for what to do and I sincerely hope this is not something super simple. files ( not per support), ensuring anti-virus and firewall programs were not interfering. I have talked with live chat support twice and follwed all of their instructions however nothing has worked this includes: Perform a Clean Boot, Origin Clear Cache, Uninstall through Revo uninstaller, unistalling and reinstalling all vc++ redist. After downloading the update it says, " UpdateTool.exe has stopped working". So I was recommended to download the legacy client which worked, but, it forces me to update immediately.

The first is this: OriginThinSetup.EXE application error "The application has failed to start correctly 0xc000007b". Since then I have recieved two major errors that are keeping me from making any headway on installing. So, for the last few days I have been attempting to install Origin on a freshly wiped and upgraded (to windows 10) computer.
